Good, but not great

I was initially excited to try Peg Leg Porker, so I jumped at the opportunity to test and rate the bourbon. Right out of the bottle, it was like a bottle rocket - lots of heat. I didn't expect that from a 90-proof whiskey. It cooled down a bit after I let it open up in the glass, but you could still tell it was a Tennessee bourbon rather than one from Kentucky. I look forward to it mellowing every time the cork pops. This one could be a sleeper, but the jury is still out.
