Made using Buffalo Trace's "Rye Mash #2" recipe, Hancock's President's Reserve was originally introduced by Master Distiller Emeritus who worked for more than 50 years at the distillery. First released in 1991 and named after Hancock Taylor, a surveyor in the Leestown area who was killed by Native Americans. Hancock's President's Reserve is one of four single barrel bourbons from the Buffalo Trace stable, the others being Blanton's, Rock Hill Farms, and Elmer T. Lee. The bottle does not carry a barrel number or age statement but Hancock's Reserve is believed to be around 8 years old.
Hancock's Single Barrel Reserve is part of Buffalo Trace's distinguished lineup of single barrel bourbons. Introduced in 1991, it pays homage to Hancock Lee, one of the pioneers of the Leestown settlement, which is now home to the Buffalo Trace Distillery. This bourbon is crafted using Buffalo Trace's high-rye mash bill number two, which also produces other renowned bourbons like Blanton's and Elmer T. Lee. Despite its lower profile, Hancock's Reserve offers a unique tasting experience that stands out among its peers.
